Why is this important?

Approximately 1 in 100 babies are diagnosed with a Congenital Heart Defect in the US. CHD is as common as autism, yet general public awareness of CHD is fairly low.

Increasing awareness leads to more discussions about CHD. More people talking about it leads to more support, more funding, more research, and ultimately better lives for those affected by CHD.

Once I got over the initial shock of my daughter’s CHD diagnosis, it didn’t take me very long to realize I needed to do something to help raise CHD awareness. Eventually, I came around to the idea of this blog. Through here I aim to raise awareness of Congenital Heart Defects.

Everyone in the heart community is trying to help raise awareness in some capacity or another. Will you join us?

Get some cute apparel, accessories, and other products to show off all while helping increase CHD awareness. Furthermore, find great heart warrior gift ideas, baby heart surgery gifts, and CHD gifts for the heart mom or heart parents in your life!

There couldn’t be a better time than right now. February is Heart Month, a special time to focus on heart health and raise awareness for heart disease. Keep reading to check out a bunch of great CHD small businesses below.

How to Support CHD Small Businesses

Spend some time getting to know the above CHD small businesses. If you’re able to, make some purchases to encourage their efforts and the greater mission of raising awareness for Congenital Heart Defects. When looking for a gift for your heart warrior, or family members cheering on your CHD warrior, consider these CHD small businesses.

Purchasing something from one of these CHD small businesses is an obvious way to support them. However, there are other ways you can aid small businesses, even for free.

  1. Leave a positive review for them on Etsy, Google, Facebook, Yelp, or anywhere else applicable.
  2. Follow their business pages on social media (Facebook, Instagram, Pinterest, etc.)
  3. Like and comment on their social posts.
  4. Share their social posts or tag a friend.
  5. Refer their business to family, friends, and colleagues.
  6. Cheer them on!

Interacting with small businesses online and referring them to friends and family leads to more people learning about them. If you buy something, show it off, talk about it, and share a review.

Save this post, pin it, share it with a friend, and refer back to it whenever you’re considering CHD gifts, support apparel for an upcoming surgery, Heartiversary, Heart Month, CHD Awareness week or otherwise.
